Properties of Sound

We learned that sound can be high or low pitched. We have learned the Kodaly hand signs for the musical notes and have been looking at using American Sign Language to represent songs.

Today, we applied what we learned by composing our own little pieces of music on the xylophone. Some of our children already knew how to read notes as they play musical instruments. They played some pieces that they already knew.

We then had a go at composing and playing our original pieces of music. We recorded the notes of our composition on paper so that our friends can play our music too!
