Our Class Library

The children have been very excited about organising. A group of them have asked to organise our class library.

They asked for coloured stickers and colour coded the different books. "We put the chapter books here." explained Gabriel. "Yeah, and we can use this to put our shoes. We don't want children to wear shoes here." said Maori. The other children helped as well.

A few requested to stay in during playtime so as to finish organising. They put fairy lights on and went 'Tadaa!" when their classmates came back from play.

It was lovely to share their enthusiasm and see them owning their learning space. What a great way for them to show their understanding. They know that the skills learned in class has practical links and applications in real life. Is that not what they come to school for?
