Moms at Work

I invited our parents to come into the classroom to 'teach' making a toy using simple Scientific concepts. Two of our moms, (after a wee bit of persuasion from me), came to class to demonstrate.

The children were divided into two groups. Each group spent 15 minutes with each Mom.

Dada and Mutsumi came with materials they prepared. They explained the Science behind the toys they were making. The children had a go at making the paper windmill and also a 'whistle flute' using a straw.

These materials were placed in our Maker Space so that the children can experiment and make them independently during exploration time.

I would like to thank Dada and Mutsumi for their time and support. They were confident and well prepared for their session. The children really enjoyed having them in class, especially Daisuke and Adam.
